August saw quite a bit of tidying up in the List with sales notified of Cameron A300 G-CJXI, Cameron V-77 envelope G-BUWU and Cameron H34 Hopper G-EROS with a couple more ‘rumoured’ to have sold where we await confirmation from their owners. Similarly we have ‘tidied up’ the wanted ads now that some owners have fulfilled their needs.
New this month is Cameron V-42 G-BYRK with only 21 hours. Just in time for this year’s One Man Meet on 3rd to 5th October at Popham airfield near Winchester.
Lots more go over from ‘Stop Press’ to the main list this issue, including a 1994 Cameron N-90 G-BVOP in excellent condition with just 98 hours from Mark Stelling and a complete 2004 Cameron Z-90 G-CCPT from Alan Hall, two faithful Cameron Mk4 double burners (one a Super), a Titanium 60L cylinder, Yaesu radio and a 5hp fan whilst the monkeys at Monkey World are to get their new home following a generous offer from Tony Brown.
The Bristol Fiesta took place 8th to 10th August with mixed weather, but included a sunny, gentle wind for the Sunday morning mass ascent. The Bristol based ‘Balloon Collectors’ had a positive result for Zebedee by inflating G-BVWI, one of a pair of Cameron Philips ‘Energy Saver’ light bulb special shapes from 1994, not seen for many years. The lone Philips sponsored flying suit advertised for several years in this List were sold the next day – with 3 more requests for them in the following days!
