Unless you know otherwise September has been a poor month for sales with no envelopes reported sold.
For October we have Dick Sargent’s LBL35A Hopper G-GABI which after a long flying career sees Dick retiring. For many years he has represented LBL in Switzerland and prior to that bought appropriately registered G-DICK on the second hand market and owned it for 29 years!
Moving over from ‘Stop Press’ this issue is Jim Atkinson’s Cameron V-65 envelope G-CEVH, originally flown in Belgium. Gareth Gray has entered a number of items to this month’s offerings whilst Tony Brown has added a GPS to his selection, Peter Haworth some Rego couplings and Andy Rawson, a 13hp fan, still under construction at present but available ‘like new’ in coming weeks!
New from Zebedee are a pair of scoops, several burner frames and a basket cover as well as a number of smaller items in ‘Other’ plus price reductions on our cold-air inflatables, radio headsets and a couple of our ‘tired’ envelopes. Arthur Street has further reduced the price of his Cameron basket.
The statement made by Chris Dunkley and ourselves last month received several replies, mostly willing us to ‘carry on’ and offering thanks for our work hitherto. That is well received and somewhat flattering but finding ‘new blood’ in the maintenance sector was the point of us writing.
Zebedee is heading off to the One Man Meet at Chirk this coming weekend, organised by John & Wendy once again but with a forecast which has been the norm for 2024 – wet & windy! What happened to those sunny October days with slow winds on the surface, faster aloft and teams driving the length of the country to attempt the ‘Long Jump’?!
