Colt 21A G-BOLN originally one of a trio of ‘Pepsi Hoppers’ has found a new home in France during March, whilst other sales include Mike Scholes’ Titanium cylinders, a basket, radio, flying suit, quick release and several items from Peter Mossman – which made it on to ‘Stop Press’ during the month. His two balloons, a crispy fabric Cameron O-65 and former Irish ‘Budget Travel’ Cameron O-84 enter the List for April, as does a 3m Westfalia trailer needing work. Chris Dunkley continues his gradual clearance with a nice LBL burner for sale, whilst Zebedee has two (of 6!) Colt C2 Doubles under offer. News just in whilst writing this is that Mike Evans has sold all that he needs to from his long advertised Cameron bottom end.
In the UK the licensing debate continues with important consultations currently open from both the CAA and BBAC. All readers are encouraged to respond to this arduous procedure for the good of flying in the future.
The Cross Channel 2024 event has suffered from the recent weather conditions and taking this into account the organisers have decided not to extend the standby period but to roll it over to Autumn/Winter 2024.Exact dates are not available at the moment but the Pilot WhatsApp group will remain open for updates etc. All entrants will be carried forward but please advise if you can no longer take part. Thanks to Mark Stelling and the Exclusive Ballooning Team for this latest news.
Then at the end of the month on 27th April the BBM&L hold its biennial Inflation Day at Pidley, Cambs. Entry is £5 per head, cash on the gate. Your chance to air long forgotten envelopes including those for sale. No need to enter – just turn up and give us a surprise ….! Fingers are crossed for a bit (lot!) less wind that the 2022 event. Zebedee will be there of course and deliveries are possible ….
Finally, there was a wonderful article from Judy Graham (age 77) in the Times 2 on Thursday this week concerning the way technology has left her (my) generation behind. I mention it here to remind readers that to contact me you need to email me (received when I am at home only) on peter.j.bish@btinternet.com, phone or text (only) on +44 (0)7771 681527 or telephone before 2000 on +44 (0)1488 681527. I don’t see pictures sent to my phone and have nothing to do with fancy apps. For higher tech then use the adverts@zebedeelist.co.uk email which goes to Celia worldwide (!) or WhatsApp her on +44 (0)7786 376245.
