We have heard from Tony Brown that he has sold his Cameron A-140 complete during the month and that it will soon be on its way to Italy.
New for December is the Cameron C90 which appeared in ‘Stop Press’ during November for sale by Claude Gouzerh in France. From Zebedee we have a lovely liquid pilot light Shadow single burner with new hoses and an adjustable height, swivelling socket burner frame and Form One, plus another Colt C3 Double burner (liquid pilot lights) this time in a standard T&C frame. We have also reduced the price of a number of frames & chairs etc from one man balloons which have been cluttering up the barn for too long. These are likely to be only useful for museums or decorations having become ‘old tech’ over the years.
Ian Jones has restored a Cameron basket to its former glory. See the basket section.
Sad news to reach us mid month was the sudden death of Ray Bailey. We had only seen him a couple of weeks previously in good form at the British Balloon Museum & Library’s annual luncheon. Ray flew the Court Line balloon (G-BAND) and was part of the “Eight of Herts” group with G-AZUP in the early 70’s. He worked for Court Line for a while, then a policeman before joining the CAA as their AOC Balloon Inspector. He then went to work at Lindstrand Balloons. He was a balloon examiner who clocked up 66 check outs, eventually moving to Spain. Condolences to wife Rosie.
Finally we wish all our readers a Happy and safe Christmas and we hope to see you at the Icicle Refrozen meet on 7th to 9th January 2022. We will have our usual stand but as always if you need anything particular brought to the meet, please let us know.
STOP PRESS : Since this issue was finalised, we received news of the untimely death of our friend and fellow Dante member Phil Dunnington who became ill whilst in Jordan.
