Regrettably April was another month in which we received no new ads in readiness for this issue. Whilst it is understandable that most people are finding homes for their spare kit via social media for free, they are missing out on the worldwide reach of the Zebedee List and over 700 subscribers who get Zebedee News each month by email. This was demonstrated by a nice mail we got from Sophie Hurtland who reports many enquiries for her Tekno in France which resulted in a sale during the month.
In fact a whole host of items – from virtually every section of the List – found homes in the UK and abroad during April, including the long advertised LBL Double T bottom end in Hampshire.
Since the return to flying we have been busy with repairs and the supply of refuelling hoses/adapters etc. Once again we have run out of our supply of the ever popular Bonanno filters, with little prospect of a top up any time soon ….
A continuation of sorting out items in the Zebedee barn, prompted by a request for an old burner unit for decoration, lead to half a dozen such units, several of which are removed unserviceable units but would clean up for decorative purposes being included this month – See ‘Other / Burner units for decoration!’
Whilst the flow of parcels to the EU from the UK has settled down to some extent, beware that local VAT is being charged on the full price of second hand as well as new items on importation. Presumably EU VAT registered customers can recoup this charge, whilst it is a significant extra cost to private individuals.
Sad news to reach us recently is the death of Terry McCoy, peacefully in his sleep after a long illness. Terry who ran Ascent Balloons will be remembered as a modest pilot and Instructor in the Western Region BBAC, training many well known pilots mainly in the Bath area. He was a Zebedee customer and regular attendee of the Icicle Meet. Terry will be missed….
