We are in uncharted waters – never before have we seen such a worldwide shutdown of aviation thanks to the current Coronavirus “plague”. We have had local upsets over the years – Foot & Mouth disease, Volcanic Ash, the after effects of 9/11 but these have not affected all the world at once.
All ballooning events, including the BBML Inflation Day in April, West Midlands Air Festival here in the UK are cancelled and more are likely to follow. With the present ‘lockdown’ general flying is not possible either which whilst understandable, is particularly annoying having just emerged from a very wet & windy winter into a week of sunshine including a couple of calm days!
Only one envelope has left the List for April although a couple of burners and several items from the ‘Other’ section have sold during March.
As can be expected little joins this issue – just the envelope from last month’s ‘Stop Press’ and some Kevlar flying ‘wires’ in California.
This issue, after 33 years, is likely to be the first ‘web only’ version with our printers limiting their work and us our driving to deliver/collect the paper version. Strange times.
We urge our readers to take all reasonable precautions and hope normality returns soon ….
Keep safe.
