New entry for February is a colourful Cameron N-105, bearing a little bit of advertising as a full, well equipped kit. See the G-FUSE ad from Sean Simington. Also from Sean (on behalf of Steve Lacey) are 4 LBL Titanium cylinders (Russian style) and a 9hp fan. New from Zebedee is a nice Cameron Mk4 Super double burner and on the the “three quarter” sized Worthingtons popular for inflations and with the model balloon community as “bulk tanks”.
Zebedee also now has a stock of the colourful ‘Plastazote’ of the type used for so many years by LBL as cushion floor material. At the moment we can do red, royal blue, yellow, white and black. It comes in nominal 2m x 1m sheets, but in reality is 2 or 3 cm larger in each direction, all 30mm thick. Unless you are taking 10+ sheets on a big pallet then it is “buyer collects” from Hungerford – or pre-order and meet us at the BBAC AGM & Members Day at Brackley on 15th March.
This month has seen lots of bits & pieces on the move but only two envelopes – one that failed an ARC whilst the bottom end sold, so has been withdrawn. The other as part of a complete H-34.
Axel Ockelmann is advertising this issue for a commercial pilot for the 2020 season in Germany. Bearing in mind that one of the requirements is to be able to speak German, then his ad is in German – a first for us and presumably to get only ‘valid’ applications – nice one Axel!
The two long running January meets on mainland Europe had mixed fortunes. Filzmoos, Austria mid month we hear was sunny and flyable with flights numbering into double figures for some whilst Château-d’Oex at the end of the month had a good initial weekend, but was hit by snow & wind for the weekdays thereafter.
With cross channel travel in mind for 2020 then Dave Such reports that the 2020 BBAC Member Discount for Sailings on DFDS Services information is now live on the BBAC Forum.
