As is normal in the run up to Metz, Zebedee has been busy with preparing and delivering small packages – refuelling adapters, droplines, fire blankets etc etc. Larger items have slowed down this month although Robbie Mansfield’s smart 120 and John Till’s Concept basket/burner quickly found new homes in July.
A small error in hours flown occurred in the July list initially. G-FFAB was listed with 230 hours instead of the correct 130 although this was quickly corrected on our ‘Stop Press’ page. Missed too from last month was a mention for Glen Board, finally selling G-ULTA in Austria.
New this issue is another 5hp fan and a small trailer from Zebedee. Despite several requests we have been unable to get an update from Olaf re his stash of equipment for sale in Oldenburg, Germany. Consequently the list which remains on our ‘Stop Press’ page is now several months old.
Zebedee is off to the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta on 8th August, already with a number of deliveries to make and with our spares department – we hope to see many of our customers there. We also hope to visit Longleat in September and the One Man Meet in October.
Sad news to reach us recently is the death of Peter Lewis-Smith aged 97, husband of the late Anne Lewis-Smith and father of Jenni d’Alton, a family so intertwined with the early days of the BBAC, Aerostat, the BBML and ‘Trailrope’ (the Museum’s magazine). Peter, a true gentleman was the long standing membership secretary of the BBML who computerised our membership list, yet handled renewals in a friendly, personalised way. Our condolences to the family.
Just before close of press for August we received an ad for UM Hopper G-OINN from Glen Everett. One for prospective entrants to this year’s One-Man Meet ??!
