December seems to have flown by with very little time between editing the December issue and this, our first offering for 2018. Consequently we can only report one envelope and several smaller items as sold during that time. New for January are just the two envelopes which have appeared on ‘STOP PRESS’ over recent weeks.
The period running up to and over Christmas has seen a particularly wet and windy spell in the UK – with little prospect of flying in the first days of January either. Fingers are seriously crossed here for the Icicle Refrozen Meet on 6th/7th Jan. We understand that the Saturday evening dinner is now sold out. Zebedee’s van is filling up with a number of items for delivery or viewing – but some space does remain ….!
John Russon reports that the NW Region of the BBAC has produced a ballooning calendar for 2018 – we hope to have some available at Icicle but if you will not be there see the Forum on the BBAC website.
We have had a request, which we cannot fulfill from Germany for a single burner, but not more than 15 years old. If you have one please let us know at Zebedee.
There has been a short reprieve granted by the CAA for compliance to the 8.33 radio requirements for the ballooning frequency and we now have until 31st December 2018 to comply. See the December Pilot’s Circular for full details.
Many of you are doubtless heading off to the Alps soon, with those magical snow bound meets at Chateau d’Oex, Filzmoos and Tannheim beckoning. Certainly tempting looking out from the window as I write this on New Year’s Eve. Many you have much safe and happy flying in 2018 wherever it is …..
