October was another month to see minimal sales on the envelope front, with a couple of advertisers withdrawing their ads for November having not attracted suitable buyers – maybe it is the time of year ….
New for November is a ‘Ladybird’ Cameron 105 envelope plus a rather tired Colt 180A, which having not flown since 2006, lacks transition to the EASA airworthiness system.
Also new this edition are a couple of bulk tanks, with pump etc at what seems to be a good price albeit buyer collects from the Gloucester area (see Refuelling Kit). Zebedee has at last expanded its tank offering with a batch of relatively old but clean Worthingtons fresh from PRV/PPT, including several with QSOs. Also the first T&C V-30s we have had to offer for some while.
We have also completely revised our listing of tether ropes, having had a bunch of good quality used ropes arrive during October. We have divided these into groups, giving length, diameter and price for each. Basically they fall into groups – braided nylon – such as we supply new; ‘soft’ – nice to handle nylon ropes, stiffer less flexible ropes and the less popular polypropylene type. See Tethering Kit. Also new this time (see ‘Other’) are a couple of used quick releases.
Congratulations are in order to Wendy & John Tyrrell for a successful One Man Meet, with Friday evening and Sunday morning (6th & 8th October) seeing 19 and 22 balloons fly from the grounds of the Mill House Hotel, Kingham.
Next on the UK calendar is the ever popular ‘Icicle Refrozen Meet’ at the Donnington Grove Hotel & Country Club on Saturday 6th & Sunday 7th January 2018. Bookings for entry and the Saturday night dinner are available on the website at www.icicle-refrozen.com
