We have now heard from Allan Nimmo that he has now sold all but one envelope from his substantial list placed with Zebedee exactly a year ago. That is the very low houred Abu Dhabi and HSBC branded Cameron Z-120 G-OLFF. All his baskets / burners and other items have gone save for a few very small items listed herein. Also notified as sold during August were the N-90 OY-GOO, which we predicted would sell quickly, Experimental 48 in Austria and Ultramagic 120 G-HPEN.
In for September is an Ultramagic H-77 which appeared in our website ‘Stop Press’ a couple of weeks ago, a well equipped LBL-90A from Devon along with another complete 90 – a Cameron Concept this time and a Raven Aerostar 3000 in France plus various smaller items. Also a very nice Cameron 90/105 bottom end complete with an EASA Form 1 from Zebedee.
Mystery surrounds two of our readers of the paper Zebedee List who independently report the arrival of empty envelopes in the post in August, despite being well sealed when they left here …. Phantom readers at Royal Mail perhaps?!
As many people will have read in the UK Pilots Circular, we have a new Air Navigation Order in the UK, which came into being on 25th August. One of the changes, supposedly making life easier for private pilots is a self declared medical. This may well help many fixed wing / microlight pilots (and some balloon pilots) who only wish to fly in the UK. Most UK PPLs for balloons wish to fly in EASA land (Metz for example) so will need a LAPL medical or if venturing outside Europe will need a full blown EU Class 2 AME medical. A much bigger percentage of balloonists visit countries outside Europe than in fixed wing flying with meets in the US, Thailand, Dubai, Philippines, Saga etc. For some a Class 2 may be difficult, for many an extra expense …. Is this progress?!
Zebedee will be in attendance (with balloon) at the forthcoming Grass Roots Meet at Sackville, 8th – 11th September so there will be room in the van for any small deliveries, so please order early ….
