Plenty of sales took place in April with both a complete 60 & 77 finding new homes together with 105 & 300 envelopes. Several of the items mentioned n the April Zebedee News also moved on quickly.
New for May we have a complete Cameron Concept 80, complete Lindstrand 105A, Cameron 120 envelope and an exciting lightweight homebuilt ‘48’ from Austria. The 105A and 120 appeared in ‘Stop Press’ during April. The ‘48’ is Annexe II.
Allan Nimmo continues to make progress in selling his fleet and has made some substantial reductions on the very low houred complete LBL 260A, G-VIZA and Cameron Z120 envelope G-OLFF, together with £500 off one of his remaining baskets.
Zebedee has some tanks for sale at last, although confined to the smaller sizes. We have also sorted through our ‘dropline mountain’ to offer branded examples from several manufacturers. We of course also offer our own lightweight examples ( 50m x 50mm) in a choice of coloured Cordura covers (see Zebedee’s Box).
Martin Axtell still has no news of his remaining missing items, but we should have given credit last month to the sleuths that guided him to the basket/tanks/fan – so thanks to Linda Crossland-Clark, John Till and Craig Duggan.
The ‘main event’ in May is the British Balloon Museum & Library’s biennial Inflation Day being held on Saturday 7th May at Pidley, Cambs. At this distance the forecast is promising and many old envelopes are on the entry list. Even if you have not yet entered then turn up and bring something old – you will not be disappointed! Finally we have to report the sad death, on 7th April, of Brian Godding – a past Chairman & stalwart of the 3-4-40 BBAC Region. Brian owned and flew Viva 56, G-BDYH for many years in Berkshire & Oxfordshire. His quiet, calm manner made him an ideal choice to deal with landowner issues on Map 164. Our condolences to wife Christine.
