This List is running late due to half of the editorial team having been ensconced in Metz, along with a large number of our readers. This years Meet suffered from rather variable weather – strong winds and thunderstorms at times with interludes of calm winds but very hot days. For the record books, on Wednesday 31st July 408 balloons took off in less than one hour and the following day 391 were lined up on the runway & taxiways for a group photo. Some 49 nations were represented by 1207 pilots making it a truly world class event.
Metz followed the Aerosaurus organised event at Tiverton, this year enjoying good weather. All slots were flyable over the weekend and it was a pleasure to fly in such lovely countryside with its welcoming farming community.
Next is the Bristol Fiesta where the Zebedee van plans to be in attendance from Thursday to Saturday complete with a small selection of spares and ordered items.
Four complete balloons and one envelope were notified as sold from the July List and Zebedee’s 56 envelope is reserved. Amongst those, Neil Dykes’ 105 has gone to France and Tony Brown’s 210 to Mexico.
In for August are a complete 120 & 275 and the re-appearance of Kim’s 425, plus another 275 envelope. Also this month are a number of bottom ends ranging from a very nice 65 at Zebedee to another 105/120 from Koen in Belgium.
John Albury is selling a Dittel FSG5, a type of solid radio much sought after in the past …..
Last but not least, Marsh Insurance Brokers are offering to pay your 6% Premium Tax on all new private policies taken out during August, September and October. An offer not to be missed in these cash strapped times so contact Laura on laura.m.durcan@marsh.com for your quote.
Finally Zebedee sends congratulations to Ben Close on his recent check out / solo. Ben is one of those young, keen Bristol area types so much needed if our sport is to continue.
