February turned out much quieter than expected for sales of envelopes – just two withdrawn from sale at the time of writing ….! However four bottom ends have moved on, perhaps reflecting the way to reduce the cost of a new balloon is to buy a new envelope but save money by acquiring one of the many excellent baskets & burners on the used market.
New for March are 3 envelopes from Zebedee – 2 x 250s and a 120, one of the 250s being a complete balloon …. Two more bottom ends join the List, as do various bits & pieces from Mark Shemilt and a welcome comeback from David Farrar.
Zebedee has also sorted a whole heap of items in for sale from various sources. Included here are a bunch of scoops, tether ropes & V-bridles. Also a stack of dusty Pye Westminster radios / Phillips MX293 base stations has arrived complete with speakers, aerials etc. We have not advertised this lot as yet as we are not sure of what works & what doesn’t but if any expert wants to help us do some testing there’s a bargain to be had ….
Go Ballooning has a vacancy for a pilot in the Sits Vacant section this month whilst Exclusive Ballooning report filling two of the five vacancies for staff they advertised last month.
Several price reductions appear within, notably on G-OAFR, the 105 envelope.
Cary Crawley has changed his search from wanting big balloons to photographs, film & sound recordings of Barnstorming pilots, Stunt acts or Smoke balloon displays …. Meanwhile Andy Kaye has launched a website for collectors of pins. See www.balloonpins.co.uk
Zebedee will be present at the BBAC AGM at Stratford on Sunday 17th March with the usual selection of spares, but should you want a larger item please let us know in advance …..
