Sales have continued through October with two Cameron 120s finding new homes, one complete example and an envelope only. The near new Cameron Z-77 envelope G-CIXR and Zebedee’s Westfalia trailer are in the process of being sold, whilst Cameron Z-90 GCCPT has been temporarily withdrawn from sale.
Two stainless LBL 80L cylinders were added to ‘Stop Press’ during the month but now appear in the ‘Tanks’ section. These were purchased new 20 years ago and have been in store ever since – so need a PPT/PRV etc to put them into service.
The 2022 One Man Meet at Cirencester Park saw only one flight during what was a breezy and wet weekend. A sunny lull on Saturday afternoon saw 29 one man balloons fly off to the northeast. Well done John Tyrrell and Wendy Rousell.
The BBM&L AGM/Luncheon on 30th October was less well attended than in past years although the Donnington Grove Hotel provided a nice meal followed by Andrew Holly’s presentation “Fly Every State”. The gruelling tour of all 50 USA states over a 43 day period (yes, including Alaska & Hawaii!) and making a free flight (minimum 15 minutes) in each with strict rules on witnessed takeoffs and landing imposed in order to get Guinness ratification. A truly great achievement – especially as no American had done it already! A book and DVD about the trip has been produced. See Zebedee’s Box for a copy …..
Nigel Tasker supplied a set of early Aerostats to Zebedee last week so we now have a full set available from 1972 to the end of the century – and then only a couple missing to the end of 2021! All are priced at £1 a copy, but we only have binders for the A4 sized versions from 1978 onwards.
